About this product

Apple's wireless earbuds. For blind and low-vision users the main draw is hands-free audio: VoiceOver and other screen readers play through them, so a phone can stay in a pocket while you listen, and dictation and voice assistants work without getting a device out. They pair automatically with Apple devices and work with anything else over standard Bluetooth. Several models exist at different prices and with different noise-control and transparency features, so it is worth checking which one a review is describing. Battery life is measured in hours per charge with more in the case, so a full day of screen-reader listening usually means topping up.

I use my AirPods constantly for dictation, phone calls, listening to VoiceOver, talking with ChatGPT, and navigating my day hands-free. The sound quality is excellent, they're comfortable enough to wear for hours, and they've quietly become one of the accessibility tools I rely on the most.
