About this product

Camera glasses with a built-in voice assistant, worn like ordinary spectacles or sunglasses. You ask a question out loud and hear the answer through small speakers near your ears, and the assistant can describe what the camera is pointed at — reading a sign, a label or a menu, or naming what is in front of you. For blind and low-vision users the appeal is that this is hands-free, needs no phone held up to anything, and looks like ordinary eyewear. Two things are worth weighing against that: the camera makes privacy a consideration in shared spaces, and the assistant's descriptions can be incomplete or wrong, so most people use them alongside other tools rather than instead of them.

Meta Glasses have completely changed how I move through the world. I use them almost every day to read signs, identify objects, check expiration dates, read menus, and answer questions about my surroundings. They're not perfect, but they give me more confidence and independence than almost any other piece of technology I own. If you're considering them, I think they're absolutely worth the investment.
